News from Miss Neal

The second grade is buzzing with excitement! On Monday, November 2nd, we led the All Saints Day Mass at Notre Dame Church. Please come and see our “saint display” by our classroom. In Social Studies we are learning about where we live. Our science unit this month is about animals. In math we continue to practice place value and counting money. In reading we are exploring Unit 2 as “We Work Together.”

The stories we have left to read include The Bremen Town Musicians and A Turkey for Thanksgiving. These stories will help us discover how to work together. I hope you are all logging onto the Scott Foresman web site, www.sfsuccessnet.com and taking advantage of the reading, math and social studies enrichment activities. They are wonderful!

I look forward to meeting with you at our Parent-Teacher Conferences later in November. The second grade wishes all the SMDA families a very Happy Thanksgiving Holiday.
