From the Principal's Desk....

Thank you all for a wonderful Catholic Schools’ Week. It is great to get together as school family. The Fun Festival was attended by a record crowd and fun was had by all. Thank you to all those that worked double shifts because of the sickness that hit our school family the weekend of the festival and breakfast.

A special thank you to all those who participated in the opening and closing Masses at St. Mary’s Cathedral and Notre Dame Parishes. It is important for us to be visible in the parishes and thank them for all their prayers and financial support. They sacrifice much for our Catholic school!

SMDA Also, thank you so much for the support of our school family, mourning the death of Robert Guimond, father of kindergarten teacher, Aimee Flynn. We needed to support Aimee and her family as faculty, staff, and school family. Thank you to all the students and parents of our school that attended the wake and funeral. Your presence was truly felt. When one of us hurts, we all hurt. That is what family is all about! It is a wonderful privilege to be part of such a caring school family!

We mourn with the Catholic Communities of Heuvelton and Ogdensburg at the death of Deacon Adam Crowe. Adam was quite active at SMDA, especially during Catholic Vacation Bible School. He is a great loss for our community, but we now look to him as a prayer warrior in heaven. May God bless Adam’s family in a special way during this difficult time.
